On April 20, 2006 we had three of our stallions gelded at our ranch. We took the opportunity to video tape the casteration of one of our minis, Primo, as an educational tool for ourselves and for anyone else that hasn't had the opportunity to witnessed this surgery.
All three were performed by UC Davis Field Service Team at our ranch by senior students under the instruction/guidance of Doctors Watson and Cornish.
The video file of the complete casteration is to large to post to our website, but we do have a shorter version that is 4 minutes long that is of the first half of the surgery.
The full casteration from health check to a groggy new gelding was well under an hour (surgery was approximately 10 minutes and recovery 30 minutes).
All three of our boys are recovering nicely!
